- Those appetizers are amazing
- The steak
- The atmosphere
Last month I was lucky enough to be invited to Bianconi, a swanky new restaurant in the heart of Los Angeles’ mid-Wilshire area. I invited my girlfriend, Nicole, of NNLifestyling.
We had a great time hanging out with a bunch of food influencers from all over Los Angeles.
It’s hard to determine which part I enjoyed the most. Was it the upscale and intimate feel of the restaurant? Was it the amazing wine? Maybe it was spending a great evening with the girl I’m so in love with. Definitely, I enjoyed meeting new friends, and enjoying the star of the show: the great food.
The meal was held over a leisurely three hour evening. Appetizers came and were quickly scooped up. The most interesting appetizer we tried was the octopus. It was served in spicy tomato sauce, black olives and capers.
If I had to pick one savory appetizer my favorite was the Parmigiana, with baby eggplant, tomato sauce and mozzarella. As you can see in the pictures there is a fantastic variety and every bite was better than the next. The proscuitto was tender and soft. The fresh calamari was vibrant and cooked to perfection.
My favorite main course was the housemade veal ravioli. It was tender, delicious and just the right amount to fill me up. This came about half way through, and the portion was a perfect transition to the main course, a beautifully cooked steak.
Finally, the main course was our bit of the massive Tomahawk steak, prepared Tuscan style. This amazing dish was paraded around the restaurant, and you can see the before and after photos.
Finally, just when we thought the evening was over dessert came. My favorite was the tiramisu. So great! Creamy, sweet and the best way to end the evening.
We were plowed with great appetizers, pasta, meat, wine and dessert!
