It’s been a long time since I’ve been to a Black Angus. It’s been years since the one or two times I’ve been.

Well, they invited me over this weekend and I have to say that the taste of the meal was fantastic.

We were invited for the New Zealand Rack of Lamb promotion and I went in thinking that I don’t like lamb. I was sorely mistaken.

We ordered, and you can see in the pictures how great this lamb actually is. It tastes even better. The meat is succulent and the way it’s prepared it had me wishing we had ordered the full rack. After the first bite I knew we didn’t order enough.

My guest at this meal was my mom, and we had a great time. As you can see she ordered tots and green beans.

I ordered the 8 oz filet topped with onions and portabello mushrooms. For sides I had the potatoes au gratin and coleslaw. The taste of that steak was fantastic. I eat my fair share of steaks cooked at home and eaten across fine restaurants in Los Angeles. This steak was super tender, and the taste was smoky and so incredibly flavorful!

For drinks we sampled the strawberry mojito, which has a very subtle flavor. The pour was strong, and it wasn’t sweet, which is very much to my liking.

Finally, we ended the meal with an absolutely delicious strawberry cheesecake and chocolate mud cake.

This was an unexpectedly great meal. I was expecting good, and it turned into great!

Awesome work Black Angus!
