You know that thing where you wake up every morning, and you’re hungry?  Sometimes you have oatmeal, or some hard boiled eggs.  Sometimes you have cereal and you’re like…cool…serial.  I get it.

Breakfast is a super important meal.  In fact, research shows that if you eat breakfast you’re more likely to eat less during the day, and maintain a healthy weight.  I know this, because the first step to losing a lot of weight for me was to eat breakfast.

Lately, I’ve been going to one of my favorite breakfast places: Overland Cafe.

This place is nice.  You get there early in the morning and there are soccer matches on the big TVs, or yesterday’s Dodger’s game, or whatever is going on.  The vibe is laid back.  Walk in, grab a table and the nice servers are filling up your coffee mug in no time.

I’m a creature of habit, so when I find a good meal I tend not to deviate from it.  So, I get this awesome week day deal: pancakes, or French toast, scrambled eggs topped with Cheddar cheese, bacon and a cup of Joe.  There’s something about these eggs that are amazing. I can’t get the taste anywhere else. The whole meal comes to I think $8.10.  If I skip the coffee I save $2.50.

I’ve been around town eating great breakfast for years.  Especially now that I’ve been dating my lovely girlfriends I’ve become even more of a breakfast aficionado, seeing that breakfast and brunch is a great way to get together on the weekends.

If you go to Overland on the weekend expect there to be a wait. They offer awesome bottomless brunch mimosas, so if you want to get your drink on before noon do it there.  In fact, you don’t have to wait until the weekend either. Surprisingly, I’ve seen someone drinking a beer at literally 10am while I’m having a late weekday breakfast. I didn’t ask, but I like his style.

If you come on Wednesdays or Thursdays watch out for street cleaning in the morning.

So, there you have it.  If you want a great breakfast this is the place.
